Dave Maclean, P.G., L.S.P., L.E.P. Senior Associate/Senior Hydrogeologist
Dave has broad experience in water supply and contaminant hydrogeology projects throughout New England. Specific areas of technical experience for Dave include hazardous waste site assessment, source water development and protection, environmental permitting, and providing technical assistance to municipalities regarding State and Federal environmental programs. Dave is active in hazardous waste site assessment and remediation and has successfully assessed, remediated, and closed many complex sites using a variety of remedial technologies. Waste site experience includes detailed consultations on several large CERCLA Superfund projects with EPA Region 1. Dave is an active Licensed Site Professional (LSP) in Massachusetts and has guided many clients through complex remediation projects involving the Massachusetts Contingency Plan. Dave also oversees permitting projects for major municipal drinking water well systems throughout New England and New York, and secured the first large groundwater withdrawal permit for a municipal client in New Hampshire. Dave was appointed by the New Hampshire Governor to the Legislative Committee to Study Issues Relative to Ground Water Withdrawals and the New Hampshire Business and Industry Association (NHBIA) honored him with an Above and Beyond award for his services on this committee.
Dave is active with the New England Water Works Association, the New Hampshire Water Works Association, the NHBIA and he is an effective and sought-after educator providing many presentations to these organizations. Industrial clients and developers work with Dave to help explain and educate municipal boards, abutters, and community stakeholders regarding groundwater resource issues during permitting activities. His broad experience in both water supply and contaminant hydrology provides unique insight for his clients, which frequently results in considerable cost savings.
