Our years of experience with the expected performance of ground water aquifers in our region help our clients evaluate potential well sites and withdrawal system configurations.

Our engineers and hydrogeologists have worked on designing wells in a wide variety of geologic environments including large capacity/large diameter gravel pack wells, deep wells in fractured bedrock, and specialty wells such as caisson wells for stream bed recharge applications. Your supply needs to be protected from threats and setbacks from sensitive features. We construct comprehensive withdrawal testing plans, collecting data to evaluate potential interactions with nearby water supplies or water resources. Plans commonly include extensive water-level monitoring to track changes induced by withdrawal testing. GeoInsight hydrogeologists interpret and present pump testing data: evaluating sustainable well yields, the possible impacts of withdrawals during drought conditions, and capture zones around a well.

As an expert in the water supply field, GeoInsight is often asked to conduct peer reviews of withdrawal testing plans for concerned water users and stakeholders, verifying that potential adverse impacts are properly evaluated and addressed.   • Finite difference ground water flow models (MODFLOW)
  • Analytical packages such as AT123D (contaminant flow)
  • Natural Attenuation Software (natural decay of contaminants), and
  • Seasonal Soil Compartment Model (leaching of soil constituents).


In many cases, analytical methods are sufficient to completely address your project’s challenges. In more complex, high-stakes projects, we've constructed detailed finite difference models (such as MODFLOW) to account for complex hydrogeologic environments or to address especially sensitive receptor situations.
