Construction Project Planning

Planning For Success

GeoInsight develops practical construction project planning that minimize delays, control costs, and limit change orders. Our experience has allowed us to establish a large and diverse library of proven construction plans. That means that you will get a practical, cost-effective document that paves the way for your project’s success.

Preparation of Construction Work Plans

Many construction plans are required to include elements of sustainable design and construction practices. GeoInsight is experienced with these more stringent protocols, including those enforced by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and state agencies. GeoInsight can prepare these documents for both conventional design/bid contracts and design-build scenarios. Our plans have been reviewed and approved by the USEPA, state regulators, city/town municipal departments, and other third party engineers. Construction work plans for Civil Engineering projects address diverse topics, including:

  • Quality control
  • Communication
  • Up-front risk management
  • Environmental issues
  • Health and safety
  • Erosion and sediment control
  • Fast-track construction sequencing with multiple trades
  • Results-based specifications and contract language
  • Recycling and reuse of construction materials
  • Field engineering responsibilities, and
  • Long-term operations and maintenance.

GeoInsight's construction work planning services include:

GeoInsight’s expertise in construction and site engineering allows for effective reviews that are tailored to your project's specific needs. Constructability reviews can take two forms:

Formal Setting
In a more formal setting, a select team of GeoInsight engineers review a set of plans and specifications to understand construction specifications and identify issues that could impact the schedule, budget, or performance.

Team-Oriented Setting
In the team-oriented setting, GeoInsight can collaborate with an experienced contractor to communicate their perspective on the details, sequence, and specifics of the construction. This approach is invaluable in complex civil engineering projects, where it is vital to correctly sequence the work, achieving specific outcomes at important project milestones.

Value Engineering Reviews
Our value engineering reviews identify opportunities to reduce costs while still meeting project objectives. GeoInsight’s team of engineers, along with the project Owner, will identify project objectives then begin to identify opportunities to lower costs for materials and products, construction, and longer-term operations and maintenance.
