Massachusetts Single-Wall Steel Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) Must Be Removed or Closed-In-Place by August 7, 2017

UST Regulations

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) requires that single-wall steel underground storage tanks (USTs) be removed or permanently closed in place by August 7, 2017. MassDEP is exercising enforcement discretion if tanks are taken out of service by August 7, 2017 and planned for removal by July 1, 2018, if certain requirements are met.
