Our Electricity's Out, but Our Energy's On!

November 1, 2011

Update: 11/4/2011, 8:00 am: We're back! Thank you to everyone for your patience and ingenuity! Here's to kinder weather ahead.

The first snowstorm of the year knocked our socks off! Read on to learn how you can get in touch while our phone lines are down, and how GeoInsight's energetic team has been making engineering magic to keep us working at full capacity.

First thing's first: need to get in touch?

We've been fielding all calls through our Massachusetts office since Wednesday, and apologize if you've had trouble reaching us.  If you need to get in touch with a GeoInsight team member, please call our MA office first at (978) 679-1600. Alternately, you could fill out an "Ask an Expert" box anywhere on our website. Leave your name, phone number, and who you'd like to call you back. We'll receive your message immediately and you'll get a call back shortly.

If you need to speak with someone immediately, you can call one of our office managers' cell phones for help.

Massachusetts: Mike Webster at (978) 835-6547

New Hampshire: Mike Penney at (603) 494-4211 or Brian Kisiel at (603) 770-3886

Connecticut: Don Iannicelli at (203) 464-9851

No electricity? No problem!

The Halloween snowstorm in our region brought down branches weighted by snow-covered leaves, causing massive power outages, affecting all three of our offices. By Tuesday morning, we had power, internet connectivity, and phones back up in our MA office. By Tuesday night, our brave NH team had rigged up a generator on the roof of our headquarters building (with extension cords running through the windows!) giving us enough power to get our servers back up. By Wednesday morning, the CT office had done the same! Since then, we've had some employees flocking to the warmth (and coffee machine!) of our Massachusetts office, some working remotely, some out in the field, and some braving the dark and balmy 47 degree temperatures in our Connecticut and New Hampshire offices!

The New Hampshire office may still be out for a few days due to a fried underground wire. Check back for updates and consider us open for business as usual.
