GeoInsight’s Environmental Compliance Experts Suzanne Pisano and Jennifer Pisani presented at the Massachusetts Facility Administration Association (MFAA) Fall Conference held on October 17-19, 2017.  Their presentation titled “Understanding and Managing your Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Risks for Massachusetts Municipal Facilities,”gave attendees an overview of the types of municipal facilities that are at risk and typical EHS hazards that often get overlooked.  The discussion also included the following.

  • preparing facilities for emergency responses;

  • Massachusetts EHS regulations and requirements, with a focus on Tier II reporting and common pitfalls; and

  • typical municipal facility auditing topics and identifying key EHS issues and how they relate to regulatory filings.

The MFAA Fall Conference featured sessions conducted by industry experts and various State agencies (OSD and MSBA) that apply directly to public administrators.  It is the only training of its kind in Massachusetts that specifically targets the various topics that fall under Facility Management responsibilities.  The conference also allows public administrators to network with a variety of association experts and colleagues from around the State. The MFAA is a community of more than 150 facility directors that provide services for municipal and public K-12 schools in Massachusetts.  The MFAA is an independent, professional organization that was formed over 30 years ago to provide each member access to pertinent information and education, with the goal of improving his or her professional status, as well as share knowledge and resources to better serve their communities. The session was presented by GeoInsight’s compliance experts, Suzanne Pisano, P.E.,TURP, LEED AP, Director of Compliance, and Jennifer Pisani, Compliance Project Manager. Pisano brings 28 years of EHS experience and is responsible for managing and technically directing environmental and engineering projects for industrial, manufacturing, institutional, federal, and municipal clients located throughout the United States. Pisani, Project Manager, has 10 years of consulting experience in environmental policy, compliance, water resources engineering, stormwater permitting, and industrial wastewater. Pisani also provides annual environmental, health, and safety training to a wide range of facilities.
