EPA 2012 Construction General Permit (CGP) Is Now In Force

May 16, 2012

The 2012 National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) CGP for construction storm water discharges and the preparation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) must now be used to guide erosion and sediment control at construction sites.  The new rule came into effect on February 16, 2012 for sites filing for a new permit and May 16, 2012 for sites already operating under an existing Permit.

There are many new requirements associated with the new CGP permit that require a well-thought-out approach to maintain compliance with the permit and preserve storm water quality.  GeoInsight is familiar with the 2003, 2008, and the 2012 CGP requirements, and can assist with the preparation and electronic filing of a Notice of Intent, preparation of site-specific SWPPPs, and provide storm water treatment design and inspection services.
