2018 Massachusetts TURA Guide and Resources

Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Reports are due July 1st. The TRI reports contain information about how chemicals are treated, recycled, or otherwise disposed of by facilities who trigger reporting criteria.  This program is regulated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) Section 313 guidelines to track the management of specific toxic chemicals that may pose a threat to human health and the environment. Businesses in Massachusetts are subject to more stringent reporting and chemical management planning under the Toxics Use Reduction Act (TURA). This regulatory requirement establishes rules for Massachusetts companies that use large quantities of specific toxic chemicals, many below the federal thresholds, or for substances not regulated by the USEPA. The rule requires facilities that are subject to TURA to evaluate and plan for pollution prevention, implement prevention planning, and annually measure and report the results on state-specific forms. Here are some resources to get you ready for the 2018 TURA report and plan development.

Due Date:

TURA is also due July 1st just like TRI.
