GeoInisght's Littleton, MA office has an opening for an entry-level Geologist or Scientist with 0 to 2 years experience and a strong work ethic.  Candidate should have relevant coursework or work-study experience, and be available to perform field investigations, project work, surveying, sample collection, data evaluation and tabulation, calculations, compliance review and assistance, and basic report writing/preparation.  Work may include Environmental Health and Safety, and Hazardous Materials Management.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs basic field-orientated tasks including data collection and measurements;
  • Prepares field notes and related documentation as assigned following company standards;
  • Maintains excel databases associated with regulatory compliance;
  • Assists with preparing regulatory submittals, such as permit applications and plans;
  • Oversees well installations and soil borings;
  • Conducts ground water, soil, sediment and surface water sampling;
  • Retrieves necessary data using online databases, off-line records, or other means;
  • Enters collected data into report format using applicable software and company formatting guidelines; and
  • Applies basic knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory requirements and regulatory programs; and

 

Position Requirements

  • 4 year (accredited) college degree in Geology, Chemistry, or Environmental Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Excellent written and oral communication and research skills.
  • Position requires car and independent transportation to work sites.
  • Requires extensive field work and some heavy lifting.
  • Computer literate.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training a plus.
  • Previous consulting experience is a plus.

GeoInsight, Inc. has an opening for an Entry-level Environmental/Civil Engineer to assist our team of Project Managers in the areas of water supply, and domestic and industrial wastewater engineering.

 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or closely related field;
  • 0-2 years of experience in engineering design, permitting, construction oversight and/or environmental compliance;
  • Engineering-in-Training certification preferred;
  • Proficiency with computer software programs including the Microsoft Office suite; AutoCAD and GIS are a plus;
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently;
  • Effective oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deliverables simultaneously;
  • Strong report writing/preparation abilities; and
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training a plus.

  • 2-5 years of experience in engineering design, permitting, construction oversight and/or environmental compliance;
  • Engineering-in-Training certification;

  • Knowledge of CTDEEP, CTDPH and PURA regulations; 
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently;

  • Strong report writing/preparation abilities; and
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training a plus.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists Project Managers with the design and equipment selection associated with various types of engineering projects, including the development of new water sources, the design of water treatment and distribution systems and domestic and industrial treatment systems;
  • Completes engineering design calculations and related documentation to properly support engineering designs;
  • Prepares permit application materials and compliance-related reports for submittal to applicable State and/or Federal agencies;
  • Prepares technical reports, including plans and specifications and engineering estimates pertaining to proposed projects;
  • Oversees the construction of engineering projects and prepares inspection reports;
  • Attends project-related meetings with Clients, Contractors and Regulators; and 
  • Performs basic to moderately complex field-oriented tasks including ground water sampling/gauging, and oversees well installations, soil borings, test pit excavations, and other site investigation activities.
