Aluminum Sheet Manufacturer: General Compliance Assistance

GeoInsight provides environmental, compliance, and engineering support to a provider of aluminum sheet products. The facility is a world class supplier of custom rolled aluminum products and operations include a rolling mill and heat treating. GeoInsight has assisted the facility and staff to maintain consistent compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, and aiding in the development of a system that uses on-site water for process cooling. GeoInsight has a long history of working with the facility to provide environmental compliance assistance and reporting, permitting, and assessment.

Key Projects Include:

• Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) reporting, including Tier II, and TRI
• Preparation of discharge monitoring reports (DMR) and ATMR reports
• Stormwater sampling and agency reporting (SMR)
• Development of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)
• Assistance with regulatory requests and agency inspections
• Preparation and review of waste profiles and annual updates
• Development and permitting of on site wells for once through non-contact cooling. The project resulted in significant energy and cost savings.
• Obtaining required Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection water diversion permits for the non-contact water as well as NPDES discharge permits
• Management of a detailed compliance calendar and deliverables for the facility
• Air permit record keeping including fuel use and emission source calculations
• Assisting the facility in waste management including hazardous, universal, and state regulated waste materials
• Development of Spill Prevention Countermeasure and Control Plans (SPCC)
• Employee annual environmental refresher training for spill, waste, and storm water
